Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is to provide a transmission device and a reception device enabling, when encrypted contents transmitted using MMT are to be transmitted externally or stored using MPEG-DASH, reuse of the encrypted contents without the need of re-encryption. The transmission device, for outputting a sequence of encrypted packets when a sample is inputted therein, is provided with: a fragment generation unit for dividing the sample and generating one or more payloads each having a size that is integral multiple of a size of an encryption block; a counter value generation unit for generating a counter value used for encryption; an encryption unit for encrypting the payload based on the counter value; and a multiplexing unit for outputting the encrypted payload as the packets, and is characterized in that the counter value generation unit controls the counter value so as to be continuous between the encryption blocks adjacent within the sample.
