Abstract:
A transmission tower monitoring system is provided. The transmission tower monitoring system has a plurality of contactless couplers installed on optical fiber composite overhead ground wires installed on a plurality of transmission towers. Information needed is detected by installing a detection unit on a transmission tower at a remote location. A frequency signal corresponding to the detected information is generated in a communication modem and transmitted to the contactless couplers, and the contactless couplers transmit the frequency signal to the optical fiber composite overhead ground wires. Power is supplied to the communication modem by installing an instrument current transformer on the optical fiber composite overhead ground wire adjacent to the contactless coupler connected to the communication modem. Thus, the frequency signal is transmitted through the optical fiber composite overhead ground wires connected between the plurality of transmission towers, thereby enabling the frequency signal to be received by a management server at the remote location. The management server analyzes the corresponding information and checks monitoring information of the transmission tower at the remote location.
