Title:
TREATMENT METHOD FOR BIOMASS TO MAXIMIZE SUGAR YIELD, AND ADDITIVE USED IN SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/087068
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a treatment method for biomass to maximize a sugar yield. The method of the present invention can effective adsorb a lignin-derived material and various materials inhibiting enzymatic activity using a specific additive, thereby promoting enzymatic saccharification or simultaneous saccharification and fermentation, for example, the saccharification of cellulose by cellulase. Therefore, it is possible to maximize the yield of sugar obtained from biomass.
