Abstract:
A treatment method of persistent organic pollutant in particulates is provided. Said method includes reacting persistent organic pollutant in particulates under hydrothermal conditions and in presence of Fe2+ and Fe3+. Several beneficial effects can be achieved, including 1) no other additive is needed during the reaction process; 2) Fe2+ and Fe3+ are safe and cheap extensive sources; 3) because Fe2+ and Fe3+ are dissolved, they can fully disperse on particulates' surfaces and fully contacting can be achieved, thus obtaining a decomposition rate up to 70% of persistent organic pollutant under subcritical condition.
