A tumor treating fields system, provided with an electric field generator and at least two pairs of insulating electrodes. The electric field generator comprises: an alternating current signal generator configured to generate at least two paths of alternating current electrical signals, wherein the at least two paths of alternating current electrical signals are outputted to the corresponding at least two pairs of insulating electrodes so as to generate alternating electric fields in at least two directions between the at least two pairs of insulating electrodes; and a signal controller configured to acquire temperature information of the insulating electrodes, and to independently control an output of each of the at least two paths of alternating current electrical signals on the basis of the temperature information, so as to selectively apply, to corresponding insulating electrodes, a corresponding alternating electric field in the alternating electric fields in the at least two directions. The electric field generator of the tumor treating fields system independently controls the outputted alternating current electrical signals by means of the signal controller, so that the electric field use efficiency is improved while ensuring that the insulating electrodes are within a safety threshold.
