Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide user equipment and a method for controlling a system column thereof. The method comprises: detecting the display status of the system column, wherein the system column is used for indicating system level information or providing a system level virtual operation button, and presenting in a specified display area on a screen; when the system column is presented on the screen of the user equipment and the presented system column comprises a hidden button, receiving a first input inputted by an input unit for selecting the hidden button to hide the system column; or when the system column is not presented on the screen of the user equipment, receiving a second input inputted by the input unit to present the system column, and the second input is a track moving from the edge of the screen to the center of the screen. The technical solution enables the screen to be used in displaying contents to the full extent by flexibly calling or hiding the system column integrated with multiple information and/or shortcut buttons so as to improve utilization of the screen.
