Title:
VEHICLE HAVING WHEEL WITH BEARING
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1986/002895
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A vehicle having wheels with bearings includes a cylindrical shaft (1) having a relatively large diameter. Bearings (2, 3) are attached to both ends of the shaft (1). Wheel bases (4, 5) are rotatably supported through the bearings (2, 3), respectively. Wheels (10) are disposed around the wheel bases (4, 5). Further, springs (8) are disposed between the wheels (10) and the wheel bases (4, 5). The cylindrical shaft (1) is hollow and stationary. The hollow interior (13) constitutes a space to carry or accommodate a man or an article. When a man or an article is carried or accommodated in the hollow interior (13), the center of mass of this load is positioned in the vicinity of the center of the cylindrical shaft (1). Hence, it is possible to transport the man or article in a well-balanced stable state. Further, since a plurality of springs (8) are interposed between the wheel bases (4, 5) and the associated wheels (10), when the vehicle is running on an uneven road surface, the vibrations of the wheels (10) are not directly transmitted to the wheel bases (4, 5). Thus, the arrangement also provides a shock absorbing function.
