Abstract:
The present invention relates to a water current power generation apparatus, comprising: a first return unit (100) and a second return unit (200) installed spaced apart from one another; a first disc unit (130) and a second disc unit (230) rotatably mounted on the first return unit (100) and the second return unit (200), respectively; a cable (300) of which both ends are caught on the first disc unit (130) and the second disc unit (230), respectively, and which rotates the first disc unit (130) or the second disc unit (230) by rotation; and a plurality of thrust generation units (400) which are coupled to the cable (300) and provide the cable (300) with thrust capable of rotating the first disc unit (130) and the second disc unit (230), wherein the thrust generation units (400) comprise: a main body (410) formed as a buoyant body to float on a water surface; and a parachute portion (420) which is coupled to the main body (410) and can be unfolded or folded to change the cross-sectional area thereof, wherein in the case of the thrust generation units (400) proceeding in the same direction as a water current (U), the parachute portion (400) is unfolded to maximize the force received from the water current (U), and in the case of the thrust generation units (400) proceeding in the reverse direction to that of the water current (U), the parachute portion (420) is folded to minimize the force received from the water current (U).
