Abstract:
A wave bearing (7) of a wave generator (5) of a wave gear device (1) comprises, between an inner ring raceway surface (9) and an outer ring raceway surface (10), steel or stainless steel cylindrical hollow rollers (12) that serve as rolling elements. The ratio Di/Do of the inner diameter Di to the outer diameter Do of the hollow rollers (12) is set to at least 0.95. The relative radius of curvature of hollow rollers (12) that have been flexed into an ellipsoidal shape increases with respect to the inner ring raceway surface (9) and the outer ring raceway surface (10) with which the hollow rollers (12) are in contact, and the Hertz maximum contact stress is reduced. The hardness of the hollow rollers (12), the inner ring raceway surface (9), and the outer ring raceway surface (10) can be reduced.
