Title:
WIRE CUT ELECTRIC DISCHARGE MACHINING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1989/009672
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This invention provides a wire cut electric discharge machining method which can prevent the occurrence of damages that can occur due to the interruption of discharge machining at an intermediate part of a certain machining zone resulting from wire shortage and can improve quality of the product. A central processor compares a wire consumption length necessary for machining in association with each block of a machining program with a remaining wire length and judges sequentially whether or not machining relating to this block can be conducted to the end (S3). If it is judged impossible, the processor displays an alarm message (S7) and stops the discharge machining when the machining associated with the block that is being executed is completed (S8). As a result, discharge machining is not interrupted at a bent position of a machining path and damage that would otherwise reduce product quality does not occur on the machined surface of the work.
