Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a wire tensioner capable of accurately informing a worker that an overtension has occurred, an overtension mitigation device for a wire tensioner, a method for modifying a wire tensioner, and a method of using a wire tensioner. The wire tensioner comprises a first member, a second member, and a pulling device. The pulling device is provided with a pulling device body, a chain for pulling the first member toward the second member, and an overtension mitigation device. The overtension mitigation device is provided with a base member, a slide member capable of a linear sliding movement in a first direction relative to the base member, a first pin member capable of changing from a non-broken state to a broken state, and a stopper for preventing the slide member from falling off the base member. In the non-broken state, the first pin prohibits the slide member from moving beyond a first position in the first direction, and in the broken state, the first pin allows the slide member to move beyond the first position in the first direction. The problem to be addressed can thus be solved.
