Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2003/074140
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The invention concerns a toy model comprising a set of connectable building blocks A, B, C, D, E, F, G, possessing mutual coupling elements for the creation of solid figures. The blocks make it possible to build solid figures which retain their shape during play, despite the effects of pressure being applied to the side of the blocks. The building blocks have grooves: (4), (6) and coupling tongues: (1).

Description:
Wooden building blocks with coupling tongues The invention concerns a toy utility model comprising a set of connectable building blocks possesing mutual coupling elements for the creation of solid figures.

There are known toys being a set of wooden building blocks that have shape of geometric figures with smooth surface walls. The shapes make it possible to build solid 5figures by placing one block on another. This method enable shifting blocks each other due to the lack of elements allowing for mutual coupling. The purpose of the utility model is to design blocks in that way to create solid figures retaining its shape during play even when pressure is applied to the side walls of the blocks. This aim has been achieved based on the utility model design owing to that one of the surface of the block 10contains a centrally-placed groove or grooves, depending on the size of the area of the lower surface and also groove (s) at a right angle in relation to the longitudinal axis of the symetry of said block placed parallel to the edge of the block, while the other surface possessing tongue (s) in the form of cuboid with the profile of a square placed parallel to the edge of said block. Wooden building blocks with coupling tongues are joined to 15 each other by guiding the tongue of one block into the groove of a second block.

The subject of utility model is a set of 7 building blocks marked A, B, C, D, E, F, G shown on the attached drawings. Figure 1-4 shows: block A, fig. 5-8 block B, fig. 9-12 block C, fig. 13-18 block D, fig. 19-24 block E, fig. 25-28 block F, fig. 29-31 block G.
