Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/015940
Kind Code:

Abstract:
A vibratory barreling device is configured so that, during the polishing of a workpiece by the vibratory barreling device, the workpiece is protected to prevent the occurrence of a defect. A workpiece holding jig (1) is a jig for vibratory barreling and is used to hold a flat workpiece (W) when polishing the workpiece (W) using a vibratory barreling device and polishing media. The workpiece holding jig (1) is provided with: guard members (10, 11) which are circular disk shaped, have an outer shape greater than the workpiece (W), and are arranged so as to face each other; and a holding member (12) which holds the workpiece (W) within a cylindrical receiving space (V) so that the entire workpiece (W) is located within the receiving space (V). The guard members (10, 11) have respectively formed therein windows (10w, 11w) connecting to the receiving space (V). The polishing media are capable of moving between the inside and outside of the receiving space (V) through the windows (10w, 11w) and through an annular imaginary curved surface (S) which extends so as to connect the peripheral edges of the guard members (10, 11).
