Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium feeding device comprising an edge guide and a medium rest attachable/detachable to/from a device body, which is compatible with stable transportation of a medium during attachment on the device body and inhibition or avoidance of a possibility of damage due to an impact, etc. upon detachment from the apparatus body.SOLUTION: A medium feeding device 10 comprises a medium rest 11 that is provided attachable/detachable to/from a device body 2 and one pair of edge guides 12, 12 that are provided in the medium rest 11 and comprise guide surfaces 13 for guiding width-directional side edges of a sheet P intersecting with a feed direction thereof. The edge guide 12 comprises a projection 30 that protrudes, in at least a part of the guide surface 13, in the feed direction with respect to a medium rest 11, downstream, an attachment part 31 that is attached to an attached part 41 provided in the medium rest 11, and a contact part 32 that serves, when an external force is applied to the projection 30 in a direction including an opposite direction to the feed direction, as damage inhibiting means for inhibiting damage to the attachment part 31 due to the external force.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
