Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that can reduce the occurrence of a failure in guiding a medium that is due to a guide part being charged by a charging part that charges a heating body to be on the same polarity as that of toner in order to reduce the occurrence of electrostatic offset.SOLUTION: A fixing device 60 comprises: a heating body 61 that heats a medium S on which a toner image is formed; a pressure body 62 that applies pressure to the medium S at a nip N formed by the heating body 61 and pressure body; a heat source 63 that applies heat to the heating body 61; a guide part 65 that guides the medium S toward the nip N; a temperature detection part 66 that is arranged opposite to the heating body 61 and detects the temperature of the heating body 61; and a corotron type charging part 70 that is arranged on the opposite side of the guide part 65 across the temperature detection part 66 and discharges to charge the heating body 61 to be on the same polarity as that of toner, the charging part 70 having a discharge electrode 72 and a surrounding wall 74 that surrounds the discharge electrode 72 and forms an electric field with the discharge electrode 72.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3B
