Abstract:
To provide a method of manufacturing a short fiber capable of applying a plenty of liquid onto a fiber surface regardless of high productivity, and good in dispersibility in water in a papermaking process.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a short fiber includes a process of applying a liquid on the surface of a short fiber. The process comprises delivering the liquid from an opening part by a flow rate of 0.2 m/sec. or greater to applying the liquid to a fiber two while touching the fiber tow to an opening region so that the holding angle α is larger than 20° and smaller than 180° and running using a liquid-applying device composed of a curved part which is an arc shape in a section view on a part of which the opening region is provided, the opening region having the opening part (a liquid-delivery hole).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
