Abstract:
To provide a method of manufacturing a short fiber capable of applying a plenty of liquid onto a fiber surface regardless of high productivity, and good in dispersibility in water in a papermaking process.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a short fiber includes a process of applying a liquid on the surface of a short fiber. The process comprises delivering the liquid from an opening part by a flow rate of 0.2 m/sec. or greater to apply the liquid to a fiber two d while running the fiber tow d through the upside and/or the underside of the opening region without touching the opening part using a liquid-applying device composed of a plane part on a part of which the opening region a is provided, the opening region a having the opening part (a liquid-delivery hole).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
