Abstract:
To provide a technology that improves the reliability of position identification upon movement in a space where an environmental change may easily occur.SOLUTION: A moving body (101) has: a driving device (109); an external sensor (103) that repeatedly scans a surrounding space and outputs sensor data for each scan; a position estimation device (105) that compares and checks the sensor data and map data prepared in advance and, based on the result of the comparison and check, sequentially outputs position information indicating a position and a posture of the moving body; and a controller (107) that moves the moving body by controlling the drive device referring to the position information output from the position estimation device. The position estimation device compares and checks partial sensor data, as part of the sensor data, selected according to a position during movement, and the map data prepared in advance and, based on the result of the comparison and check, sequentially outputs position information indicating the position and posture of the moving body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2A
