Abstract:
To provide a rotary tool designed to realize a reverse-rotation blocking torque threshold larger than a normal-rotation blocking torque threshold.SOLUTION: A screw driver 1 as a rotary tool comprises: a motor 11; a rear clutch plate 90 rotated by the motor 11; a front clutch plate 92 movable from a first position where torque is transmitted to the rear clutch plate 90 to a second position where torque is not transmitted thereto; a spindle ball 152 that is engaged with the front clutch plate 92; and a spindle 98 that is engaged with the spindle ball 152 and capable of connecting a bit. Comparing a normal torque threshold at which the front clutch plate 92 is moved to the second position as a result of movement of the spindle ball 152 during rotation of the spindle 98 in a direction of normal rotation and reverse-rotation torque threshold at which the front clutch plate 92 moves to the second position as a result of movement of the spindle ball 152 during rotation of the spindle 98 in a direction of reverse rotation, the reverse-rotation torque threshold is set larger than the normal-rotation torque threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
