Abstract:
To reduce the central segregation of a slab.SOLUTION: In a continuous casting method where a slab 20 carried by a continuous casting machine 10 is subjected to rolling reduction by a pair of upstream side rolling reduction rolls 42 and a pair of downstream side rolling reduction rolls 44 adjacent in the carrying direction of the slab 20, the roll pitch between the pair of upstream side rolling reduction rolls 42 and the pair of downstream side rolling reduction rolls 44 is controlled to 100 to 400 mm, the slab 20 having a central solid phase rate R of 0.2 or lower is subjected to rolling reduction in 10 mm or more by the pair of upstream side rolling reduction rolls 42 and the pair of downstream side rolling reduction rolls 44, respectively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
