Abstract:
To provide a magnetic recording medium capable of improving electromagnetic conversion characteristics.SOLUTION: A tape-shaped magnetic recording medium 10 includes a base substance 11, and a magnetic layer 13 provided on the base substance and containing magnetic powder. An average thickness of the magnetic layer is 90 nm or less, an average aspect ratio of the magnetic powder is 1.0 or more and 3.0 or less, coercive force Hc1 in a vertical direction is 3,000 Oe or less, and the coercive force Hc1 in the vertical direction and coercive force Hc2 in a longer direction satisfy the relation of Hc2/Hc1≤0.8.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
