To easily achieve a state ready to print by reducing time and effort of a user in achieving the state ready to print in a method of printing with a virtual printer.SOLUTION: A virtual printer service 211 of a host computer 101 automatically acquires responses to a device search request from actual printers (103, 104, and so on) without accepting, from a user, an operation of giving an instruction to generate a virtual printer (S1201) and, with respect to each printer of the printers which have responded to the device search request, generates a virtual printer for transmitting a print job to the printer (S1202 to S 1205).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 16
