Abstract:
To make focus follow a moving subject more accurately.SOLUTION: A camera control unit determines whether or not there is continuity in a motion of a subject based on results of comparing a plurality of focus detection results with a first threshold. The first threshold value is set based on the plurality of focus detection results. When determining that there is continuity in the motion of the subject, the camera control unit drives a focus lens corresponding to a predicted future image plane position based on the plurality of focus detection results. On the other hand, when it is determined that there is no continuity in the motion of the subject, driving of the focus lens is restricted using the plurality of focus detection results.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
