Abstract:
To provide a magnetic head and a disk device which can achieve improved reliability.SOLUTION: A magnetic head comprises: a slider 15; a recording head and a read head, a first thermal actuator for controlling a recording head projection amount; and a second thermal actuator for controlling a read head projection amount. The recording head comprises: a main magnetic pole 60 having a tip part 60a projected from an air supporting face; and a first shield 62 having a tip part 62a. The tip part of the first shield includes a tip face 63a having: a first shield edge; and a second shield edge E2 positioned on a trailing end side away from the first shield edge. The main magnetic pole projects from the tip face 63a. When the length between the main magnetic pole tip part and the second shield edge is set to be L1, the projection amount of the main magnetic pole tip part to be h2, a floating pitch angle of the magnetic head to be D1, and a pitch angle of the recording head to be D2 (including zero), a relation of L1≥h2/(D1+D2) is satisfied.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
