Abstract:
To provide a machine tool which attains good workpiece processing accuracy when a workpiece is processed by using a tool held by a revolvable tool holding part, and to provide a workpiece processing method.SOLUTION: A machine tool includes: a workpiece spindle 111 which holds a workpiece and causes the workpiece to rotate around a center axis 201 extending in a horizontal direction; a tool spindle 121 which has a supported part 21, holds a tool, and may revolve around a center axis 204 orthogonal to the center axis 201; and a position holding mechanism part 26 (facing workpiece spindle 116) which has a supporting part 27 (second chuck mechanism 118) which supports the supported part 21 when the workpiece held by the workpiece spindle 111 is processed by the tool held by the tool spindle 121 and holds a position of the tool spindle 121 in a circumferential direction of the center axis 204.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
