Abstract:
PURPOSE:To surely prevent uneven wear such a rib punch, river wear or the like of a tire by specifying positions of the widthwise inner ends of both side reinforcing layers, and by forming several lateral grooves in a center rib. CONSTITUTION:A tire 1 is composed of a carcass layer 2, a tread 7, a belt layer 10, and a reinforcing layer 13 and the like. Several main grooves 8a through 8d are formed in the outer periphery of the tread 7 so that a center rib 9a and a pair of side ribs 9b are formed. Further, a reinforcing ply 14 in the reinforcing layer 13 is formed of both side plies 16, 17. In this arrangement, the widthwise inner ends 27, 28 of both side plies 16, 17 are located widthwise outward from the widthwise innermost ends 29, 30 of the main grooves 8b, 8c between both ribs 9a, 9b. A plurality of lateral grooves (not shown) are formed in the center rib 9a, being circumferentially spaced from each other and being opened at both ends, respectively to the main grooves 8b, 8c.
