Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide quick response to sudden rise of electrode temp. and abrupt drop of the water content of a solid highpolymer electrolytic film by equipping a water supply groove between hydrogen supply grooves in a gas separator to be joined with a hydrogen electrode. CONSTITUTION:A hydrogen gas separator 4 is provided with hydrogen supply grooves 6 to form a gas flow-path by them and the surface of electrode, and a coolant groove 7 is furnished between these hydrogen supply grooves 6 to perform cooling of the electrode 2 and solid highpolymer electrolytic film 1 and water refill to this film 1. Thereby the temp. and water content of the electrolytic film 1 can be held within a certain range even when changing-over is made to the high load operation. Thus stable operation is obtained for varying load, and quick response is secured at the time of transfer to the high load, and also high output can be achieved in a short time.
