Abstract:
PURPOSE:To suppress defocusing even if a housing expands or contacts thermally by fixing a color resolving prism to a housing at a dynamically center point and also installing the fitting surfaces of image pickup means at a specific distance. CONSTITUTION:The point where the color resolution prism 16 is fixed to the housing 12 is set at the intersection of equal-length perpendiculars from optical axes 56, 54, and 52. Further, the fitting surfaces 18, 20, and 22 of the image pickup means 24, 26, and 28 are formed of planes perpendicular to the optical axes 52, 54, and 56. Then the distances LB, LG, and LR from the fitting surfaces to the intersection are so set that (LBXalpha1-lbXalpha2) = (LGXalpha1-lqXalpha2) = (LRXalpha1-lrXalpha2), where lb, lq, and lr are the fitting surfaces for image pickup means from the fitting surface of a holding member, alpha1 is the coefficient of thermal expansion of the housing, and alpha2 is the coefficient of thermal expansion of the holding member. Consequently, the defocusing of projection light can be minimized.
