Abstract:
2.1 Guanine can be prepared from 2,4,5-triamino-6-hydroxypyrimidine sulphate and formic acid. If formic acid is replaced by formamide and the reaction is carried out at high temperatures, the yield can be increased to above 90%. 2.2 When crude 2,4,5-triamino-6-hydroxypyrimidine sulphate is used and formic acid in a purity of above 99%, guanine can now be obtained in high yield and purity and with good colour quality even at temperatures of up to 130 DEG C. 2.3 Preparation of guanine.
