Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a high discharging voltage and being excellent in large current charging/discharging characteristics and cycle characteristics. SOLUTION: In a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery provided with (A) a positive electrode 4 in which a specific lithium nickel composite oxide or lithium manganese composite oxide is used as positive electrode active material, (B) a negative electrode 6 containing a compound capable of storing or releasing a lithium ion and (C) an electrolyte having an electrolyte dissolved in a nonaqueous solvent, the positive electrode active material forms secondary particles composed of primary particles, in which 10<=D50/r<=50, wherein D50/r represents a ratio of an average length (r) of the primary particle in the minor direction to a particle diameter D50 at which a volume cumulative frequency of size distribution of the secondary particle reaches 50%.
