Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject foam having excellent flexibility, heat resistance and surface appearance and having a constant quality by foaming a specific olefin-based thermoplastic elastomer with a specific foaming agent. SOLUTION: This foam is obtained by passing through a gas dissolving process in which (A) 100 pts.wt. of olefin-based thermoplastic elastomer selected from an ethylene.α-olefin copolymer comprising molten ethylene and a 3-20C α-olefin, a crosslinked thermoplastic elastomer comprising a crosslinking type olefin-based copolymer and a decomposable olefin-based plastic, etc., is blended with (B) 0.1-30 pts.wt. of carbon dioxide and molding a molten olefin-based thermoplastic elastomer composition of the components A with B in a miscible state and a cooling process lowering a temperature of the composition. Preferably, the component B is added as a supercritical carbon dioxide. The resultant foamed material can comfortably used as an interior of an automotive, a vehicle, etc.
