To provide a controller of a hybrid vehicle, while attaining the required driving power and which is capable of running, even if an engine clutch cannot obtain sufficient fastening power.
The controller of the hybrid vehicle has a plurality of power sources, including an engine and at least one motor, and the engine clutch for switching the linkage state of the engine, and is provided with a slip-detecting means for detecting slippage state of the engine clutch, and a torque balance maintaining/controlling means for adjusting the output torques of the plurality of the power sources, attaining the required driving power and avoiding the slippage state, when the slipping state of the engine clutch is detected.
