To provide colored polypropylene fiber that has excellent color uniformity enough to inhibit streaky defects caused by color difference, when woven or knitted fabrics are formed, provide a method of producing the same and provide woven and knitted fabrics having no uneven coloring using the colored fiber.
A spun-dyed polypropylene multifilament crimped yarn having a dispersion of brightness ΔL* of ≤0.8 measured with a colorimeter and a fiber fineness of 56-560 dtex is produced by confluenting the molten polypropylene fed from the main extrusion machine with another molten polypropylene including pigment extruded from another extrusion machine, allowing the resultant composite polymer flow to pass through a dynamic kneading element and extruded through spinning orifices into the polypropylene colored filament yarns.
