Abstract:

To provide a battery that uses a reed terminal having a large cross section corresponding to a large current charge and discharge and is superior in sealing reliability in the sealing part of the reed terminal, and a method of manufacturing stably the battery having superior sealing reliability in the reed terminal sealing part.

At least one of the positive electrode reed terminal and the negative electrode reed terminal is made a flat metal reed 3 having a cross section of 3 mm2or more. The ratio of width/thickness of the flat metal reed 3 is made 200 or more, and a heat resistant resin layer 4a is provided between an inner resin layer 1a and the flat metal reed 3 at the drawing-out sealing side of the flat metal reed 3. With respect to the thickness of the inner resin layer 1a at the drawing-out sealing side of the flat metal reed 3, the thickness A1 of the inner resin layer 1a at the reed terminal sealing part 6 is made thinner than the thickness A2 of the inner resin layer at the joint 7 where the inner resin layers 1a are thermally fused to each other.
