Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of suppressing the drop in on- snow traction performance after wear without sacrificing on-ice performance. SOLUTION: A step 20 having a slant peak part 20A higher than the groove bottoms of a circumferential direction groove and a lateral groove but lower than a tread 19 of a block-shaped land part 18 is integratedly installed on the treading side of the block-shaped land part 18. Since the step 20 reinforces the vicinity of the treading end of the block-shaped land part 18 and increases the edge pressure in the vicinity of the treading end, in running on a snow road, the treading end easily bites onto the snow surface, and on-snow traction performance is enhanced. Since the enhancement of the on-snow traction performance is not caused by increase in groove area, on-ice performance is not sacrificed.
