To provide an emergency device capable of preventing an operation of a secondary battery in checking it from being misidentified as an operation thereof in emergency and vice versa; and to provide an emergency system.
This emergency device is provided with: the secondary battery 1 used for an emergency power source of a lamp 4; a charging circuit part 2 for charging the secondary battery 1 by power feed from commercial power AC being normal power; a lighting circuit part 3 for lighting the lamp 4 by using the secondary battery 1 as the power source; a switching element Q opening/closing a power feed path from the secondary battery 1 to the lighting circuit part 3; and a control part 5 for controlling the charging circuit part 2, the lighting circuit part 3 and the switching element Q in response to an emergency signal A and a checking signal B of a signal device 6 and for determining abnormality of the secondary battery 1. The control part 5 charges the secondary battery 1 in a normal mode, lights the lamp 4 by power feed from the secondary battery 1 in an emergency mode, and lights the lamp 4 with power W lower than that in the emergency mode by power feed from the secondary battery 1 in a checking mode.
