Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the charging of a battery for preventing fuel efficiency from deteriorating, and to prevent a battery from going dead. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 16 detects whether traveling state of a vehicle is an acceleration state, an idling state, or a constant speed state, and if the state is decided, calculates an integrated value of a current flowing into/out of a battery 5 in that state, and determines a power generating voltage of a generator 3, so as to make the current integrated value zero. With such a constitution, in a traveling state which cannot be said to be advantageous from the fuel efficiency point of view, in comparison with a deceleration state, a power-generating voltage is elevated to charge the battery 5 positively only during a period, while the battery has the tendency of the discharge, so that the decline of a fuel efficiency can be avoided, while the battery going dead is prevented.
