Abstract:

To provide a vehicle steering control device capable of suppressing a sense of incongruity caused by a driver not being able to recognize automatic steering, and preventing troublesomeness caused by a steering reaction force by the automatic steering acting on a steering wheel point by point, and its method.

During automatic steering control, when deviation between a steering angle set according to a second target steering angle and an actual steering angle exceeds a threshold β, a steering controller 10 applies the steering reaction force according to the deviation of the steering angle which is set according to the second target steering angle and the actual steering angle, and when the deviation between the steering angle set according to the second target steering angle and the actual steering angle is the threshold β or smaller, the steering controller 10 suppresses the steering reaction force according to the deviation between the steering angle set according to the second target steering angle and the actual steering angle.
