To solve the problem that it is difficult to judge whether a TS signal for digital broadcasting is normal or abnormal.
A TS signal abnormality detection apparatus comprises: a means for acquiring a plurality of digital broadcasting TS signals; a first abnormality detecting means for analyzing an ISDB-T information packet (IIP) from the TS signals, calculating a layer pattern, extracting layer information added to each TS packet, and comparing the calculated layer pattern with the extracted layer information for each TS packet, to detect abnormality of the inputted TS signals; a second abnormality detecting means for acquiring a TS packet from the TS signals, analyzing a header portion of the TS packet and determining the TS packet, that becomes a value impossible for standards, to detect abnormality; a third abnormality detecting means for acquiring a TS packet from the TS signals, analyzing transmission control information of the TS packet and determining the TS packet, that becomes a value impossible for standards, to detect abnormality; and a means for seamlessly switching the plurality of TS signals on the basis of detection results of the abnormality detecting means.
