Abstract:
A child safety seat (100, 100', 100") includes a base (10) for providing support on a vehicle seat and having a lengthwise direction extending from a rear end (10r) of the base (10) to a front end (10f) of the base (10), a child support assembly (23a) coupled with the base (10), and a latch (41, 41') and an actuator (42, 42') coupled with the child support assembly (23a). The child support assembly (23a) includes a seat portion (30) and a backrest portion (20), the backrest portion (20) being pivotally connected with the base (10) via a first pivot connection (P1), the backrest portion (20) and the seat portion (30) being pivotally connected with each other via a second pivot connection (P2) located forward relative to the first pivot connection (P1), the child support assembly (23a) being adjustable relative to the base (10) between a sitting position and a recumbent position. The latch (41, 41') is operable to lock the child support assembly (23a) with the base (10) in the sitting position or the recumbent position, and the actuator (42, 42') is operable to cause the latch (41, 41') to unlock for adjustment of the child support assembly (23a) between the sitting position and the recumbent position, wherein the base (10) has a sidewall (10a) provided with a first opening (51, 51') and a second opening (52, 52') respectively associated with the recumbent position and the sitting position, the first opening (51, 51') being located above the second opening (52, 52'), the latch (41, 41') engaging with the first opening (51, 51')for locking the child support assembly (23a) in the recumbent position and with the second opening (52, 52') for locking the child support assembly (23a) in the sitting position, and the latch (41, 41') disengaging from the base (10) for adjustment of the child support assembly (23a) between the sitting position and the recumbent position.
