Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve taste, color, flavor, etc., and produce the titled extract, hardly forming precipitates by denaturation of proteins, etc., capable of readily removing the precipitates and readily ingestible from the mouth, by extracting microalgae subjected to roasting treatment.

CONSTITUTION: Microalgae, e.g. the genus Chlorella, Scenedesmus, Spirulina, etc., are roasted at 150W300°C for 2W60min and 1W1,000g roasted microalgae is then suspended in 1l aqueous solvent, brought into contact at 50W150°C for 0.5W120min and centrifuged, etc., to remove the algal bodies. The resultant extract, as necessary, is purified by gel filtration, dialysis, etc., and dried.
