Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state image pickup device having a charge holding part with improved light-shielding performance, and to provide an imaging system using the same.SOLUTION: A solid state image pickup device comprises: a photoelectric conversion part arranged on a semiconductor substrate; a charge holding part; a floating diffusion part; a first gate electrode arranged on the semiconductor substrate and arranged between the photoelectric conversion part and the charge holding part; and a second gate electrode arranged on the semiconductor substrate and arranged between the charge holding part and the floating diffusion part. The solid state image pickup device comprises a light-shielding part including a first part arranged on the charge holding part and on at least either the first gate electrode or the second gate electrode, and a second part arranged between the first gate electrode and the second gate electrode and extending to a surface side of the semiconductor substrate from the first part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
