Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively inhibit a knock member from being pressed without depending on user's intention to make the tip of a writing lead project out of the barrel.SOLUTION: A writing instrument is configured by comprising: writing leads that embody the function to perform writing; a barrel that stores wiring leads; a knock member, arranged on one end side of the barrel for movement to an advance position advancing deeper in the barrel by undergoing knocking operation by user's fingers for pressing toward the inside of the barrel to expose the tip of a writing lead out of the other end side of the barrel, and for reset to a projected position projected wider out of one end side of the barrel by undergoing knocking operation again to retract the tip of the writing lead; and an automatic lock mechanism, which causes the knock member to displace in a different direction from the axial direction for the knock member to advance and retreat between the projected position and the advance position, when the knock member resets by undergoing knocking operation again, without depending on operation force applied from user's fingers, thereby restricting the movement to the advance position of the knock member reset to the projected position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
