Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery having less capacity reduction even when charging and discharging are repeated.SOLUTION: A lithium ion secondary battery comprises a battery main portion including a power generating element formed by laminating electrodes via a separator interposed therebetween, each electrode having a current collector and an active material layer disposed on the current collector, and a sealing portion formed of a sealing material for sealing at least a part of an outer peripheral portion of the power generating element. The difference |α1-α2| between the linear thermal expansion coefficient α1 of the sealing material and the linear thermal expansion coefficient α2 of the current collector, the maximum length L (mm) of the electrode and the inter-electrode distance D (mm) satisfy the following formula.SELECTED DRAWING: None
