Abstract:
The gas circuit breaker according to an embodiment of the invention comprises a sealed container (2), a first contact unit (50) and a second contact unit (20), an operating mechanism (30), an insulating nozzle (60), a pressure accumulation means (45), and a mobile electric field shield (80). The first contact unit (50) and the second contact unit (20) are in contact with each other in the pole-closed state, and are open and separated from each other in the pole-open state. The operating mechanism (30) is connected to the first contact unit (50). The operating mechanism (30) causes the first contact unit (50) and the second contact unit (20) to open and separate from each other, from the pole-closed state to the pole-open state. The insulating nozzle (60) surrounds an arc discharge arcing between the first contact unit (50) and the second contact unit (20). The pressure accumulation means (45) releases an arc-extinguishing gas into a flow path within the insulating nozzle, which is blown against the arc discharge. The mobile electric field shield (80) is set to the same electric potential as one of the contact units among the first contact unit (50) and the second contact unit (20). In the course of the opening and separation, when the first contact unit (50) and the second contact unit (20) are open and become separated by a predetermined distance or more in a predetermined direction, the mobile electric field shield (80) couples to one of the contact units and separates away from the other contact unit.
