Abstract:
Provided is a disposable diaper which is capable of minimizing leakage of liquid in the width direction thereof. This disposable diaper is provided with a ventral section (2), a dorsal section (3), and an absorbent body (10) comprising an absorber (14). The absorber comprises a superabsorbent polymer, and is provided with a crotch area (MA), a dorsal-side area (BA) that overlaps the dorsal section in the thickness direction, and a ventral-side area (FA) that overlaps the ventral section in the thickness direction. The dorsal-side area and/or the ventral-side area includes a low-basis-weight area in which the basis weight of the superabsorbent polymer is lower than that in the crotch area. The absorbent body comprises a pair of side sheets (17, 17). Each of the side sheets has: a fixed area (15) which is fixed to the surface of the absorbent body; and an anti-leakage wall (16) which has a width-direction outer edge fixed to the surface of the absorbent body with a width-direction inner edge being left unfixed. Edges (15E) of the fixed areas on the side of the center in the longitudinal direction overlap the low-basis-weight area in the thickness direction.
