Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and smoothly supply stacked sheets according to a type of a sheet size etc., without damaging a surface.SOLUTION: A paper feeder 5 includes a main feeding roller 39 and an auxiliary feeding roller 61 on an upstream side of the main feeding roller 39 in a sheet feeding direction, in order to feed the sheet on a stacking tray 36 in a sheet conveying direction. A controller 35 performs controls so as to recognize whether the sheet on the stacking tray has a normal sheet size or a long sheet size, on the basis of a detection result of a first upper surface detector 39 for detecting an uppermost surface of the sheet on the stacking tray 36, and a second upper surface detector 66 for detecting an uppermost surface of a rear end portion of the long sheet in the paper feeding direction, and drive only a main feeding roller in a case of a normal sheet size, and make the main feeding roller and the auxiliary feeding roller cooperate in a case of a long sheet size.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
