Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound composite material such as a sheet molding compound capable of obtaining CFRP having excellent mechanical strength using a discontinuous carbon fiber as a reinforced fiber, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: A compound composite material is obtained by dispersing and mixing approximately 0.3 wt.% of a fine glass fiber with a diameter of approximately 500 nm into a matrix resin such as a vinyl ester resin to obtain a modified matrix resin, and impregnating the modified matrix resin with a non-woven cloth-like body made of a chopped carbon fiber with a fiber length of approximately 30 mm.SELECTED DRAWING: None
