Abstract:
1418514 Audio-visual teaching apparatus BASF AG 12 March 1973 [13 March 1972 26 April 1972] 11754/73 Headings G5R and G5G Control signals 2 on a record carrier, e.g. a magnetic tape 1, disc or drum carrying a sound track 3, are picked up by a head 5 and temporarily stored before being compared in a coincidence-detecting circuit 9 with signals derived by a scanner 10 from index marks 16 on an image carrier, e.g. a cine film 11 or a video tape or disc, the circuit 9 controlling the movement of the image carrier through display apparatus, e.g. a projector 4, and possibly also the movement of the record carrier through playback apparatus 8. As shown in Fig. 2, successive groups of control signals a, b, c, d are fed to corresponding stores A1, B1, C1, D1 and the subsequent response of a student in pressing a selected button A, B, C or D determines which group of signals is used to control further operation of the playback apparatus 8 and the projector 4.
