1438610 Electrical conductor; transformers BBC BROWN BOVERI & CO Ltd 4 July 1974 [6 July 1973] 29753/74 Headings H1A and HIT An electrical conductor has electrically conducting or semi-conducting resilient foam interposed between it and its insulation, which is made of casting resin and to which the foam is bonded. The foam is made from epoxy resin, polyurethane resin, ureaformaldehyde resin or phenol-formaldehyde resin. The cell walls have a mechanical strength sufficient to withstand evacuation. The foam may have closed or partly open cells. The arrangement may be used in a cable, around bus-bars or in resin encapsulated transformers.
